Sonja Briney (Chair of Rock): Graduate, pursuing Digital Design and Communications at Seattle University. Owen Nuss (Hair/Makeup Design, Set Construction): Ā Graduate/Stagecraft Major, pursuing a BA in Theatre at Denison University. Credits include set designing Noises Off, Assistant Stage Managing Hairspray, Designed the mask and armor for Macbeth, Stage manager for Laramie Project Ten Years Later and set designer for the three restoration series plays. He recently designed and directed his senior project, an adaptation of a Russian folk tale. He thanks his parents for supporting him.

MaryV Benoit (Costume Design): Graduate, pursuing a degree in photography at Parsons The New School of Design. Skylar Arterburn (Hair/Makeup Design): Graduate, is a seven year senior in Stagecraft and Design at Denver School Of The Arts. Skylar has worked crew and designed for many shows including Pop show (2013), Opera Scenes: Confessions of a Fairy God Mother (2014), and her senior project: Becoming (2016). She is very excited for her future education, although she doesn’t exactly know where she will end up.

Orchestra Bios:

Ryan Durfee (Music Director, Piano/Keyboards) has a degree in Piano Performance from Northwestern College, St. Paul, MN. As of the Fall of 2014, he is the Staff Accompanist and Music Coach at Denver School of the Arts. In 1999, he won the NWC Concerto/Aria competition by playing Liszt Piano Concerto #1. In addition to performing solo piano, he has been involved as a music director or accompanist in numerous musicals and productions including Meet Me in St. Louis, Youā€™re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Annie, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Godspell, The Pajama Game, 42nd Street, Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, and Spring Awakening.

Greer Ramsey-White (Violin) – Greer Ramsey-White has been attending DSA since the 6th grade as an Orchestra major and is heading into her senior year this upcoming fall. Ā She has been playing the violin for 14 years and is thrilled to be a part of this wonderful production of Spring Awakening. DSA CREDITS: Hairspray (Orchestra) and Oliver! (Orchestra). Oli Cramer (Cello) has been playing the cello for 10 years. He is so excited to be a part of this amazing show. He is grateful to be part of such an awesome band and being able to play such amazing music. Ā Oli enjoys dogs, making music, and reading. He hopes you enjoy seeing Spring Awakening as much as he enjoys playing in it.

Asia Jones (Guitars) will begin her 7th year as a Guitar major at DSA this fall. Ā Some of her recent DSA musical credits include Hairspray, Final Jam, and other guitar performances; she was a part of the orchestra that was awarded the Bobby G. Award for their amazing orchestra performance in Hairspray. Ā She is very excited to be a part of this program and is grateful for the opportunity.

Caleb Theil (Drummer)- Caleb is a Stage Craft and Design Major at DSA who specializes in sound design and engineering, and has played the drums since he was a young child. Now, as a Junior, he has played many large events with his band, Last Minute including playing along with them at the Ogden theater.

Shawn Hann (Director/Set Design): This is Ms. Hannā€™s 16th year as the Director of Theatre at DSA. MA: Directing, Roosevelt University, BA Theatre/Speech Communication Education, Univ. of Northern Iowa. Recent DSA directing credits include: Moon Over Buffalo, Disneyā€™s Little Mermaid, Hairspray, Country Wife, Annie Jr, Disneyā€™s Beauty and the Beast, The Crucible, Shrek the Musical, Avenue Q, Almost, Maine, Disneyā€™s Tarzan the Musical, The Importance of Being Earnest, All-Female Hamlet, Of Mice and Men, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Mr. Matthew Strang (Lighting Designer) Matthew attended Denver School of the Arts for seven years, and is now currently a BFA3 Lighting Designer at California Institute of the Arts. Wile Matthew mainly focuses on lighting he has also worked on video content and visuals for live performances. His most recent work was as a CG Lighting Designer for a show aboard the Norwegian Cruse line.
